Why does nobody talk about how hard it is to insulate shipping containers?
Tbh I just found out from a YouTube guy that steel containers sweat condensation like crazy and you basically need closed-cell spray foam or you're asking for mold. Has anyone here tried the mineral wool route or is that a bad idea for real?

Oh dude for real, the condensation thing is brutal. I tried doing a little container build last year and didn't think about it at all, just threw up some fiberglass batts and it was a mold disaster by spring. Spray foam is the only way to go if you ask me, but man it's expensive.

Heard someone mention using closed cell foam over open cell specifically for containers because it also adds structural rigidity (which makes sense when you think about all that metal flexing). A buddy of mine did the math and said the extra cost up front basically paid for itself within a year by not having to rip out and replace moldy insulation. Definitely one of those situations where you're better off spending the money once and doing it right.
