Warning: That $200 foam insulation I sprayed inside my container off-gassed like crazy for weeks
Ended up having to cut out whole sections of drywall to air it out and redo it with rigid board instead, has anyone else had this issue with spray foam in metal boxes?

My buddy tried spray foam in a shipping container he was converting into a tiny house and ended up with headaches for three straight days. The chemical smell was so bad he had to sleep outside for over a week before he finally ripped it all out. He went with rigid board and some rockwool after that and said the air quality difference was night and day.

Yeah I mean spray foam does off gas for a while but usually not that bad unless it was applied way too thick or the temp was off when it cured. The foaming reaction actually needs moisture to set right, so in a sealed metal box it can trap solvents and delay the cure. Rigid board is definitely safer for containers in my experience, less headache overall.
