Took me a year to admit foam board was worth the extra cost

I used to do all my interior walls with plywood and drywall cause it was cheaper up front... then after 3 months in my first container build in Tucson I noticed the humidity was seeping through way worse than I expected. Swapped to closed cell foam board on my second unit and the temp difference was huge. Anyone else stick with the cheaper option way longer than they should have?

Wait, three months? That's wild. I've always been the type to just go with the cheapest option first too, and I honestly thought plywood would hold up fine in a dry climate like Tucson. Did you notice the humidity damage right away, or was it more of a slow creep thing? I'm just surprised it happened so fast, I figured a desert would be easier on the walls than something like a humid coastal spot.

Not really buying the drama, @susanm22, three months seems like a stretch for a dry climate to do that much damage.
