Storm ripped my tarp off last night, now I'm rethinking my whole insulation plan
Woke up at 3am to rain pouring through my container roof in Austin, the tarp I was using as a temp cover just shredded in the wind. Has anyone else had their build exposed to the elements before finishing? How'd you handle drying out the interior walls?

Man, sounds rough, but isn't a tarp kind of a given for temporary builds? I mean, they're basically glorified trash bags with grommets. They're gonna rip, it's what they do. You probably already knew that. The real question is how wet did things actually get? A little moisture on the studs isn't the end of the world, you can just run a dehumidifier for a day or two. Panicking and rethinking everything over a soggy tarp feels like overkill. Just buy two heavy duty tarps next time and overlap them, problem solved.

You mentioned "a little moisture on the studs isn't the end of the world" and I get that, but the issue isn't just the studs. What about the insulation if it's already in the walls? Once that gets wet, it's not just a dehumidifier fix. You're looking at ripping it all out and starting over, which adds days and money. So my question is, how much moisture is actually okay before you're stuck with a mold problem down the road? Seems like there's a difference between a damp surface and soaked through.
