Spent $600 on a fancy insulation kit for my container. Huge mistake.

Turns out the spray foam reacted with the metal panels and started peeling off after two months. Anyone else run into insulation issues with container builds?

lol well there's your problem, you went and trusted a fancy product instead of the good old fashioned stuff. That spray foam stuff is great for houses but seems like it just gives up the ghost on containers every single time. Guess you learned the hard way that metal and expanding foam don't get along lmao. Hope you can scrape it off without too much of a fight, that stuff is a nightmare to deal with once it sets.

wait but isn't spray foam technically polyurethane based though, not like actual expanding foam that's meant for gaps and cracks? @miller.susan i think you might be mixing up two different products. the stuff for houses is way different than the spray cans people use for crafts. the house stuff cures harder and bonds way stronger, but the can stuff is more like a gap filler that doesn't stick as well to metal. either way you're right about the scraping part, what a mess.
