Rant: My container roof leak taught me a hard lesson about prep work
Three years ago I built my first container home outside Denver and spent 2 weeks agonizing over the layout. Then last Tuesday after a rainstorm I found water pooling near my electrical box because I rushed the roof seal job. Has anyone else had a leak screw up their interior framing?

Seems like a bit of overkill to blame the whole build on one leak.

Not sure I agree with that @king.dakota... one leak can mess up your whole moisture barrier, and that leads to mold behind the drywall in like a month. I've seen it happen where a pinhole leak in a copper pipe rotted out an entire bathroom floor before anyone even noticed. Plus if it's a slab leak, you're digging up concrete and that's a whole different nightmare. So yeah, sometimes one leak really does tank the whole project.

Nah I gotta push back on that @emmar75. One leak doesn't mean the whole project's doomed. I've patched worse holes in my own rig and the drywall's fine three years later. Prep's important but not every drip's gonna wreck your whole build.
