My big mistake with the spray foam insulation
I tried to save cash by doing the spray foam myself on my 40 foot box. I bought a two part kit online for about 800 bucks, thinking it would be easy. I totally messed up the mix ratio and ended up with a bunch of foam that never fully set up. Had to pay a pro crew 3 grand to come strip it all out and start over. Anyone else have a horror story with DIY insulation?

Oof, that's a rough one. Messing up the mix ratio seems way too easy with those kits. I had a similar issue with a small attic space where the foam stayed tacky for weeks. It's a brutal lesson that some jobs really are for the pros.

... THREE grand to strip it all out. That's just brutal. I can't even imagine watching all that money go down the drain like that. You must have felt sick watching the pros scrape that mess off. I've heard of people regretting the DIY foam but never that bad. Makes you wonder how many other hidden costs are lurking in those "easy" kits.
