Warning: naming colors after real things almost wrecked my client logo
I named every swatch in my file after stuff like "sky" and "brick" and "moss" and spent a week tweaking them. Problem was my client and I pictured different skies, so we went back and forth on three rounds of revisions over nothing. Last Tuesday I switched to plain numbers in a hex sheet with labels like 204, 178, 96 and the approvals finally moved in one meeting. Turns out the names were doing the arguing, not the colors. Anyone else have names bite them like that, or do you just go with numbers from day one?
