Warm beige vs cool taupe for a living room... I picked wrong and it threw off my whole scheme

Painted my kitchen a "soft mushroom" once and it came out looking like a sad beige soup on the walls (major regret). Ended up having to buy all new throw pillows and a rug just to stop the room from feeling like a doctor's waiting room. Sometimes a tiny color shift can snowball into a whole redecorating mess, but at least you caught it early.

Yeah but did you swatch it first or just go off the little paper square? I swear those chips are the biggest scam in the paint world. I mean I've lost count of how many times I thought something would be a warm greige and it turned into straight up hospital beige on the wall. You really gotta paint a big board and move it around the room at different times of day before committing. Idk why they even sell those tiny squares honestly they never look right in actual lighting.
