Tried Adobe Color tools versus just eyeballing my palettes and the difference was huge
For years I would just pick colors by feel when designing small business flyers. I thought I had a decent eye for it. But last month I forced myself to use Adobe Color's wheel and accessibility tools for a local bakery's menu redesign. The contrast checker alone showed me my old palettes were terrible for readability. One of my favorite combos had a contrast ratio of only 2.5 to 1, way under the recommended 4.5 to 1. After adjusting with the harmony rules, the client said the new colors made the menu easier to read from across the counter. Has anyone else found that structured tools beat gut instinct every time?
