That $14 sample fan deck from a print shop changed my whole workflow

Last Tuesday I was picking up a test batch at a local print shop in Columbus and the owner handed me this beat-up fan deck of their house color lineup. I'd always just eyeballed hex codes on my monitor, but seeing 300+ shades physically next to each other made me realize how much my screen lies about pale greens and dusty blues. I spent that night matching my last three project palettes against the deck and found two pairs I'd been using that were practically identical on screen but totally different in print. For a $14 investment, it saved me from sending a client a logo with a muddled accent color. Has anyone else tried physical swatch decks over digital pickers, or am I just late to the obvious?
