Stuck between warm and cool undertones for a living room I'm doing next week

I tried pairing a warm terracotta accent wall with cool gray furniture last weekend and the whole room looked like it was fighting itself, has anyone else found that mixing warm and cool undertones works or does it always clash?

Gray and warm tones can work... you gotta pick the right shade of gray though.
