Spent 4 hours matching a single teal for a client's brand and it was brutal

I had this project last week where I needed to match a specific teal from a printed brochure into a digital palette. Thought it would take 20 minutes but it turned into a whole afternoon messing with CMYK values and screen calibration. Even using a Pantone bridge book didn't help because the paper stock changed everything. Has anyone else had a color that just refused to cooperate like that?

Oh man, teal is always the worst. It's like color theory's little joke on designers. Did you end up having to shift the hue just a tiny bit to trick the eye, or did you go full perfectionist and keep tweaking until it felt right? I swear, paper stock is the wild card nobody warns you about when you start out.

Paper stock is the real enemy, especially with uncoated matte.
