Spent 3 months on a warm palette for a cafe in Austin, then the owner said it felt too cold

I finished a menu board for a coffee shop near South Congress last week, used all warm tones like burnt orange and tan. The owner said it gave off a cool vibe, which threw me off completely. Three months ago I tested a cool blue scheme for a bakery in Denver, but they said it felt sterile. Now I wonder if color temperature is more about personal feel than any rule. Maybe my eye for warmth is broken, or maybe clients just say random stuff. Is there a trick to checking if a palette reads warm before delivery?

Someone else look at it" - that's actually a solid idea but idk if another person's eye would fix it since you already showed the client and they said cold. Maybe try taking pics in different lighting next time, natural light vs warm bulbs changes everything, I've had that happen with paint samples at home.

Can you have someone else look at it before you show the client?

Wait you already showed them the cold version and still let them see it like that...
