Overlooked a basic warm/cool balance for 3 years

I was working on a branding project for a coffee shop in Portland last month and kept feeling like my colors were fighting each other. My buddy glanced at my screen and just said 'your blues are all warm and your greens are all cool, no wonder it looks off.' Does anyone have a fast trick for checking warm/cool balance before you get too deep into a palette?
