My client's 9-year-old daughter called my palette 'sad beige' and I'm spiraling

Last Tuesday in Charleston, I showed a finished brand palette to a mom and her kid was in the Zoom background. She said my muted earth tones looked like "old cereal boxes" and honestly that hit harder than any design critique I've gotten in 12 years. Have any of you had a kid or someone outside design say something offhand that made you completely rethink your color instincts?
