Is it lazy to lean on trends for every project now?
I read a comment in a design group last week where someone said following the muted earth tone trend is just copying, not choosing. That stuck with me because Ive been using the same dusty sage and terracotta combo for three different clients since March. On one hand it saves me hours of trial and error and the clients always approve fast. On the other hand, my last two logos look like they could swap names and nobody would notice. I started mixing in one wild accent, like a bright orange or a deep teal, just to feel less like a template. But is that enough to call it original, or am I just trend dressing? What do you all do when a palette feels too safe but still gets the best feedback?
