Friend told me to pick paint colors at 2pm not 10am
My neighbor swears by picking wall colors only when the sun is highest. Said morning light makes everything look 3 shades lighter. I tested her theory on my living room last Saturday. Grabbed 6 swatches from Sherwin Williams, checked at 10am versus 2pm. Three of them looked completely different by afternoon. Anyone else have a lighting trick that saved them from a bad paint job?

That daylight bulb tip from @margaret_lane works great for evening matching, but 2pm is still the real test for wall colors.
