Dropped $80 on a premium color palette generator tool and it's barely better than free options
I wasted money on a fancy software that promised perfect AI-driven color harmonies, but after three days of fighting its clunky interface, I realized Photoshop's built-in tools do the same thing. Has anyone else regretted paying for color tools instead of sticking with what they already had?

I caught a review from a graphic designer on YouTube who broke down those AI palette tools and said basically all of them are just stealing from existing color theory databases. That stuck with me because it makes sense - theres no magic to it. Youre paying for a pretty wrapper around stuff thats been free for years. I tried one of them back when they first came out and uninstalled it within 48 hours. The color harmonies it spit out were the same combinations Id get from old adobe kuler or even a quick google search. Honestly, if you already know basic color rules like complementary or analogous schemes, youre not missing anything. Save that 80 bucks for a good monitor calibration tool instead. That actually makes a real difference in your work.

Right? Makes you wonder if we're all just paying for fancy ways to avoid learning the basics.
