A print shop guy in Des Moines flipped my logo upside down and one look fixed my whole color scheme
I brought him a logo with a navy blue and a dark gray that I thought worked fine on my screen, and he printed a test page and held it under the shop light so I could see the two colors basically disappear into each other. He said to drop the gray three shades lighter if I wanted the mark to actually read from across a room, and I redid the whole set around that one change. How do you all test whether two colors are too close, do you print samples or just squint at your monitor?
Who knew the secret to a whole rebrand was just having a guy hold your paper upside down? Printing a test page beats squinting at a screen any day, since my monitor lies to me on a regular basis.
