Unpopular take: grind size matters less than everyone in this hobby claims
Everyone on here acts like you need a $200 grinder and a micrometer to make a decent cup, and I just don't buy it. On Tuesday I made 4 cups with my old $35 blade grinder, pulsing it in short bursts, and then 4 more with my buddy's hand grinder that costs more than my car payment. Same beans from a shop in Sacramento, same ratio, same water temp, and nobody at the table could pick out the fancy one. I get that consistency helps, but I think people here are chasing a chart instead of tasting the coffee. Has anyone here actually done a blind side by side and gotten a clear result, or are we all just going off what we read?
