Just found out the average coffee shop spends $1,200 a month just on wasted milk

I was reading a roaster's white paper last night and that stat hit me hard. Like, that's not even counting the beans or cups. Has anyone else looked into how much their shop is tossing out?

I've seen shops cut that number in half just by training baristas to measure shots first and pour milk to match, not the other way around. Put a damn measuring line on every pitcher and watch the waste drop.

Wait, you mean some shops don't already do that? I worked at a cafe for two years and we had lines on every single pitcher, it was just standard. I swear, when you're in a rush and someone yells "two lattes and a cappuccino" the first thing to slip is eyeballing the milk and suddenly you're dumping half a pitcher down the drain. Measuring shots first is such a simple fix too, because then you know exactly how much milk fits in each cup size. We had a rule: pull the shot, check the line on the cup, then pour milk to the right mark. It cut our daily milk waste by so much I can't even remember the exact number, but it was huge. Honestly, it feels like one of those things that should be in every training manual but somehow gets skipped.
