French press vs pour over, I finally picked one after 2 years of waffling

I kept flip flopping between my old French press and a new pour over cone, mostly because my brother in Denver swore by the pour over. Last month I tried the pour over with a $25 gooseneck kettle and honestly, the cleaner cup won me over, no sludge at the bottom. But it takes me 4 minutes of babysitting versus the press's 4 minute soak and walk away. Has anyone else switched camps after a long time and regretted missing the old routine, or am I the only one who still keeps both on the counter?

Wait, TWO YEARS of waffling?? You spent 24 months going back and forth over coffee gear and I can't even commit to a new phone case for a week. That's wild dedication, honestly. But yeah, keeping both on the counter is the only sane move, some mornings I need that slap-you-in-the-face clean cup, other days I just want to hit snooze and let the press do its thing.
