Cold brew vs iced pour over, which one actually tastes better?

I keep seeing people call any dark concentrate cold brew, but a barista in Austin told me they're completely different drinks and that makes a huge difference in how you brew it. Does the smoothness of cold brew really beat the brightness of a flash chilled pour over, or is it just about what you grew up drinking?
