Cold brew changed my whole morning routine, now I prep 3 days at a time

I used to stand over my drip machine every night shift at 2 AM, waiting 6 minutes for a pot that always tasted burnt by the time I hit the third cup. Then a coworker at St. Mary's brought in a mason jar of cold brew she'd steeped for 18 hours, and I finally got why people rave about the smoothness. Now I grind 80 grams of beans, let it sit in the fridge overnight, and strain it through a mesh bag. Anyone else found that switching methods means you have to relearn how much concentrate to dilute, or is it just me?

Man, that's a lot of steps for coffee. I mean, good for you and all, but you're basically making a science project out of something that's supposed to be a quick caffeine fix. I just use the same old drip machine and deal with the burn, it's really not that deep. Honestly, the whole steeping and straining thing sounds like extra dishes and a special bag and timing it all out. Plus, you gotta figure out the dilution ratio every time, that's just more thinking before I've even had my coffee. Like, I get smoothness is nice, but I'm not about to plan my morning around a mesh bag.
