Warning: I swapped to CMYK mid-project on a brochure and the blues turned purple instantly.

I was designing a lake scene with deep water and the RGB blues popped perfect on screen, but when I proofed it in CMYK the whole thing shifted to a weird purple mess that looked nothing like my original idea, has anyone else had this happen with specific blues or did I just pick the wrong profile?

Blues turned purple" sounds like you missed the pure cyan line in CMYK, actually dark blues use magenta to deepen.

Yeah that RGB blue to magenta pipeline is a real kick in the teeth, we've all been there.
