Tried printing a neon yellow logo on a dark shirt and got a swamp green mess instead

I designed this sick logo for my buddy's lawn care business, looked killer on screen with that bright yellow. Printed it on a navy shirt and it came out looking like puke mixed with moss. Told the screen printer guy I wanted RGB neon and he just laughed at me. Has anyone else had a color flop that bad where you had to redo the whole order?

Been there. The printer was right to laugh unfortunately, screen printing doesn't use RGB and neon yellow on dark fabric always pulls green. You need a white underbase first, then print the yellow on top to get that bright pop.

My friend Ryan spent like $400 on custom tees for his band and showed up with an RGB neon yellow file. The printer literally handed him back the flash drive and said "come back when you actually want yellow." He had to pay extra for a rush redo with white underbase. They came out looking like safety vests though, so worth it.
