That designer who said 'just use rich black' cost me a whole print run
My buddy Dave, who does packaging design, told me to set text to rich black so it would look deeper on the matte paper. I trusted him on a client brochure last month, and the printer double-hit it. Result was this weird smudgy halo around every letter, looked like the ink bled. Turns out he was using coated stock, and I was on uncoated. Anyone else got a "pro tip" that backfired on paper type?
