Blew $120 on a batch of business cards that came out looking like mud

Honestly, I designed these cards on my laptop screen with all these rich dark blues and greens. They looked killer on the monitor. When the box arrived from the printer, the colors were all flat and brownish, like someone spilled coffee on them. Turns out I was working in RGB the whole time and didn't convert to CMYK before sending the file. Has anyone else had a print job totally wrecked because you forgot to switch modes?

Ngl I read somewhere that RGB has like 16 million colors while CMYK only has like 4 million or something crazy like that. So all those rich blues you saw on screen just literally don't exist in print ink. I've definitely learned to proof a physical sample before committing to a big run now.

Oh man, I was totally in the same boat until someone showed me their print proof vs screen comparison. That opened my eyes for sure.

Learned that lesson the hard way when my "vibrant ocean blue" came out looking like dishwater, right @phoenix845?
