Spent $160 on a laser-cut kit when cardboard would've showed me the flaw
Last month I bought this fancy acrylic valet tray kit from a maker site, thinking I'd skip the mockup step and go straight to the good stuff. Big mistake, the hinge placement was totally off and the whole thing wobbles on my nightstand, something a 30 minute cardboard test would've caught instantly. I'm back to taping cereal boxes together for anything with moving parts now. Anyone else have a build that taught you the cardboard stage isn't optional, or am I the only one who skipped it and paid the price?
