Went back to my old coffee shop and found my first bujo on the shelf

Stopped by The Daily Grind in Portland last week, the place where I started my first bullet journal back in 2016. I flipped through that old notebook with the coffee stains on every other page and laughed at how messy my collections were. My weekly spreads back then were just scribbles and arrows, but somehow they worked better than the fancy layouts I do now. It made me wonder if I overcomplicated things over the years. Anyone else ever look back at their early setups and think about simplifying again?
