Vent: I swore tabs were better than a dot grid until a guy at the Cleveland coffee shop watched me flip through 4 pages mid meeting
He asked why I kept losing my place and showed me his setup where every task starts with a simple dot so nothing gets boxed in early. Now my daily log is a mess of dots and I actually finish things instead of rewriting lists every morning. Anyone else switch and feel weirdly free, or did you go back to boxes?
I used to be the same way, all about the dot grid because it felt more organized in my head. Then about two years ago I watched a coworker at our Akron office plan her whole week with little bullet dots and she finished more than anyone. I tried it and at first it felt too loose, like I was not keeping track of anything. After a month I stopped rewriting the same three tasks every morning just to feel productive. The dots let me add stuff as it comes up instead of leaving blank space waiting for a big task. I will not go back to boxes, that setup kept me stuck planning instead of doing.
