Unpopular opinion: dot grid made me worse at planning until I went back to graph paper
I switched to dot grid about 8 months ago because that is what everyone here and on YouTube seems to use, and I honestly thought it was just the right way to journal. Last week I was flipping through an old notebook from 2022 and realized I actually finished way more of my weekly spreads on plain graph paper. The dots made me fuss over alignment and spacing instead of just writing stuff down. I sat at my desk in Toledo for like an hour comparing both notebooks and the graph paper ones had way more finished pages. Has anyone else gone back to grid after forcing dot grid for a while, or am I the only one who cant make it work?
Tried the same thing with fancy pens and went crawling back to a cheap pack of Bics after a month. Turns out the expensive ink made me scared to actually use it, so I just sat there admiring my pen instead of writing anything down. Sometimes the boring tool wins because it gets out of your way.
