Serious question: is the Alastair method actually worth the hype?

I was dead set against the Alastair method for monthly logs for like two years. Felt like all those tiny calendar grids were just wasting space and ink when I could just write a plain list. But last month I had 47 different appointments and deadlines crammed into April and my normal list turned into an unreadable mess. I tried the Alastair method halfway through the month just to see and honestly it saved my brain. Being able to scan across dates and tasks at once without flipping pages felt way too good. Still think the setup takes too long though. Has anyone tweaked it to make it faster to draw up?

You're acting like 47 appointments is some kind of crisis. That's just a busy month for most people, not a reason to overhaul your whole system. If drawing a few grids takes too long for you, maybe you need a simpler job, not a different planner method.

Wait, did you say you actually draw grids by hand in 2025?
