My weekly spread went from a hot mess to something I actually use after a coffee shop chat in Portland
I used to cram everything into one page with tiny handwriting and no structure. It looked pretty but I never checked it after Wednesday. Then a barista showed me how she blocks out time slots with just a single highlight marker and leaves empty space for surprises. That small change (plus using a finer pen) made me actually stick with it for 3 months now. Has anyone else found a random tip from a stranger that fixed your whole system?

Roll your eyes a little here but it's just time blocking with extra steps. People act like discovering a highlighter is some life changing revelation. Glad it works for you though.

About 3 years ago I tried the whole color coding thing and my desk looked like a rainbow exploded on it. Turned out I spent more time picking colors than actually getting stuff done. I get what you're saying about it being time blocking with a fancy name. Some people need that visual thing to make it click for them I guess. But yeah I'm with you on this one, it's nothing new.
