My old bullet journal habit of color coding every single thing versus now just using one pen color
I used to spend like an hour every week picking out the perfect five highlighter shades for my weekly spread. Then last December I dropped my whole pen case on a bus and only had a black Pilot G2 left. Had to use just that for three weeks. Turns out I actually read my own notes way faster now because I'm not distracted by all the colors. Anyone else simplify their setup and find it worked better?

Honestly did you lose any sleep over the black pen adjustment period? I bet within a week you were wondering why you ever needed a rainbow to write a grocery list. Ngl sounds like that bus did you a favor.

Hang on a sec, I think you mixed up the bus part. The bus didn't do me a favor, it just spilled my whole rainbow set across the aisle and then ran over a purple one. I still miss that purple, it was perfect for writing down my neighbor's cat's name. The black pen is fine for receipts but idk, there's something about writing "bananas" in bright orange that makes the list feel less like a chore.
