Can we talk about your bullet journal becoming too pretty to use?

I got so caught up making it look good that I avoided writing in it. Now I keep a separate sketchbook for art and my journal is just for lists, which fixed the whole thing.

Separating them completely was the only thing that worked for me too. I took it a step further and use a cheap spiral notebook for my daily messy notes and tasks. The fancy journal is now just for finished collections and monthly spreads, so there's no pressure to keep it perfect.

That's basically my system too, just with sticky notes for ultra-disposable tracking.

Oh, sticky notes are great until they fall off! I used to rely on them too, but they'd always disappear when I needed them most. @haydensanchez's method with a spiral notebook for messy daily tasks is spot on. It lets you brain dump without worrying about ruining a nice journal. I now keep a basic notepad for my daily scramble and only transfer the good bits to my proper planner. That way, nothing gets lost, and my main book stays clean.
