Vent: My buddy swore I'd love Splendor but I wanted to throw the chips after 2 rounds
He kept saying it was a "gateway game" that would get me into the hobby, but I just sat there watching him grab gem chips while I felt like I was doing math homework. Has anyone else had a friend push a game that just totally missed the mark for you?

Three rounds in I was ready to flip the table. Splendor just feels like you're counting beans at a desk job. My buddy hyped it up like it was the second coming of board games and I sat there bored out of my skull. There's zero tension or fun interaction, just staring at your own little board doing math. I get why people like the puzzle aspect but man, that game put me to sleep. Hard pass from me, your buddy means well but that's not a gateway for everyone.

Hard agree, "counting beans at a desk job" is the perfect way to describe that feeling lmao.
