Trying to sort my game collection by player count turned into a whole weekend thing

I decided to organize my 150+ board games by how many people they work best with, thinking it would take maybe an hour. I ended up spending 6 hours over two days because I kept finding old games with missing rulebooks or vague player counts online. The worst was an old copy of 'Betrayal at House on the Hill' where the box said 3-6, but the actual rules inside said you really need at least 4. Has anyone else had to dig through BGG forums just to figure out how many players a game actually needs?

Actually found it pretty useful to just go by the box numbers (you know, the ones printed right there). Most of my games play fine across their whole range if you're not too picky.

But is the difference even noticeable for casual play? Seems like overthinking it.
