Took me 45 minutes to fix a rulebook typo that confused everyone

I was teaching a game night with my group in Brooklyn and kept getting asked the same question about scoring... turns out the rulebook had a sentence that said 'gain 3 points per set' when it meant 'gain 2 points per card'. I spent the whole pause between rounds flipping pages and checking online forums. Realized later the errata was posted 6 months ago but nobody reads those. Has anyone else found a tiny error that just breaks a whole session?

I get that it's annoying, but "breaks a whole session"? C'mon. 45 minutes to figure out one typo? Seems like you could have just house-ruled it on the spot and moved on. "Gain 3 points per set" versus "gain 2 points per card" is a pretty small difference unless the game is super tight on scoring. I've seen way worse rulebook mistakes that actually made the game unplayable, like missing setup steps or contradicting themselves. This just sounds like a minor hiccup that got blown out of proportion because nobody wanted to make a call.

Yeah, I mean, I get what you're saying, but it reminds me of this one time my group was playing a game and we spent like an hour arguing about if a 'move' counted as leaving the space or just changing the direction you're facing. We had the rulebook open to three different pages, and nobody wanted to budge. Eventually someone just looked up the designer's Twitter from like 2019 and found a two word reply that settled it. So, idk, maybe some people just need that official confirmation before they can let it go, even if it seems like a small thing.
