Spent a whole Saturday sorting board game pieces by color and size

I was prepping my copy of Terraforming Mars for a game night and decided to organize all 200+ cubes into rainbow order. Turns out no one appreciated it because they grabbed the wrong colors all night long. Has anyone else wasted time on a system that just made things worse?

And here I thought I was the only one who put in a whole afternoon sorting by color only to watch everyone grab the wrong ones anyway. @josephs26 you got a point about committing, but my group just called me "the cube tyrant" and started throwing pieces at me. Next time I'm just dumping them in a pile and letting chaos reign.

Man that's rough. I've been there. What worked for me was bagging each color separately and handing them out as people sat down. No bags on the table until everyone had a set. Took the chaos out of the equation. If someone grabbed the wrong color I just pointed at the bag and said try again. Took maybe one round before they figured it out. You gotta be the cube dictator for the first 10 minutes then they start respecting the system.

Nah man you gotta commit to the system and force everyone else to adapt. Sounds like they're the problem, not your perfectly sorted cubes.
