Shoutout to the 50 play mark, which is when a board game finally stopped feeling like homework for me
I hit 50 plays of Wingspan at my kitchen table in Tucson last month, and somewhere around play 40 I quit worrying about playing it right and started actually having fun, which changed my whole view on the cult of the new stuff, so what game did that happen to you with?
What actually changed at play 40 for you, was it knowing the birds well enough to stop checking the rulebook every turn? I'm at like 15 plays of Wingspan and still in homework mode, so I'm curious what the switch felt like.
