My 9 year old nephew beat me at Ticket to Ride because he stopped counting trains and started counting my face
Sat down with my sister's kid over the weekend in Tacoma for what I figured was an easy win, and he crushed me 127 to 98. Mid game he looked up and said I always grab the same two routes out of habit, so he just started blocking them. I laughed it off but then realized he was right, I have been playing the same opening for like 4 years without even noticing. Now I keep catching myself reaching for those same cards and it feels weird. Has anybody else had a kid or new player point out a habit in your play you could not unsee?
