Had to abandon my game collection at a Portland convention
I went to the Game Expo in Portland last spring and brought about 30 boxes of my favorite board games to trade. By day two, someone swiped my entire binder of Kickstarter promos worth over $400 while I was in a demo. Now I only bring 5 games max to any event and keep them in a locked tote I can watch. Has anyone else had stuff stolen at cons or am I just unlucky?

Actually, I think your binder might have been worth more than $400 if it had Kickstarter promos. Some of those limited edition pieces go for crazy money on the resale market. I've seen single promos for popular games hit $100 plus. Sorry that happened to you though, that really sucks. Did you at least report it to convention security right away?

I get what you're saying but I kind of see it differently. Sure, some promos can be worth a lot but a full binder of them usually isn't going to hit that high unless every single one is a chase card from a major game. Most people aren't packing that kind of value into a binder they carry around a con floor.
