TIL my dad gave up on the library app after 3 tries and just calls me now to renew his books
My dad is 71 and he used to go to the library in Fresno every Saturday for 20 years. Last month the branch moved him to a phone app for holds and renewals. He tried it 3 times and gave up. He said, 'I just want to know what shelf it's on.' That hit me because I build apps for work and I always add features, never remove steps. The whole thing is 4 taps to renew a book that used to be 1 phone call. Now I drive over every week and do it for him. What's the oldest person in your life given up on lately because of an app?
