That grocery store app made me walk an extra 15 minutes

Ngl I was at the big Kroger on 3rd street last Tuesday and their app told me the peanut butter was in aisle 6. I walked all the way there and it was just a display of random chips. Then I had to ask a stocker and he said the peanut butter was actually in aisle 10 because they moved it three days ago but the app never updated. Honestly this happens like every other time I use that app. I get that stores rearrange stuff but come on, sync your digital map or at least let customers report wrong locations. Has anyone else dealt with a store app sending you on wild goose chases?

Right, the peanut butter thing. My buddy actually works for a grocery chain and he said their app team is like three people who only update the maps when the store does a full reset, which is maybe twice a year. So when a stocker moves stuff because of a display or to clear out a pallet, the app just stays wrong. I went to a Meijer once and their app said the coffee creamer was right by the dairy, but it was actually in a weird end cap by the frozen pizzas because they got some new kind of oat milk that needed space. It's not even a wild goose chase, it's more like a scavenger hunt where the map is from last season.

Hang on, is this really that big of a deal though... like you're still finding the stuff, it just takes an extra minute or two.
