That $80 password manager subscription I never opened
Honestly back in 2019 I was so worried about getting hacked after a friend's account got taken over that I bought a 5 year plan for a password manager. Paid $80 upfront. Then I just... never logged in to set it up. The app sat in my downloads folder for months. When I finally tried to use it, my credit card had expired and the account locked me out. Support wanted me to verify my identity through a backup code I never saved. Tbh that whole experience made me trust the thing less than just using my brain for passwords. Anyone else paid for a security tool and then realized the setup process was its own UX nightmare?

Read a study once that said most people ditch security tools within the first month. Setup is always the killer, not the actual protection. You basically paid for a lesson in how bad onboarding can be.
