Realized why I hate our work scheduling app after comparing it to a paper calendar

Spent 20 minutes this morning trying to figure out my route on our new scheduling app at the post office. It buried the start time under three tabs and the map kept glitching. Then I looked at the old paper calendar my coworker still uses, and she had her whole day planned out in 2 minutes. The app has too many bells and whistles nobody asked for, while the paper just shows you the info you need right away. Has anyone else noticed simpler tools winning over flashy ones in their own job?

Preach. Our fancy new dispatch board lags worse than the old dry erase marker.

Exactly what I dealt with at my last place, @joel280. We got this big touchscreen setup and it took like 10 seconds just to flip through screens. I ended up keeping a dry erase marker in my pocket for the first month because I couldn't trust the thing. What finally helped was turning off half the animations and background updates in the settings. It still wasn't perfect but at least it didn't freeze up during a busy call. Might be worth digging around in your system settings if you haven't already.
