Rant: My mom's new smart thermostat has a setup screen you can't go back from
I was helping her set it up last weekend and the first screen asked for her wifi password. She typed it wrong and hit next. The screen just said 'connecting...' for five minutes with no back button or cancel. We had to pull the unit off the wall to restart it. Who makes a setup flow with no way to fix a simple typo? Has anyone else run into a dead end like this in an app setup?

Ugh, why do they do this? My new garage door opener app did the same thing. It asked for my home network name, I picked the wrong one from the list, and it just froze on a loading screen. No back button, no way to cancel. I had to delete the app, reinstall it, and start all over. It's like they never test these things with actual people who make mistakes.

My phone's contact list is basically a museum of my own typos, so I get it.

Wait you had to delete the whole app and start over? That's insane. It's like they design these things to punish you for a simple slip-up. I'd be so mad if I had to set everything up again from scratch. They really do act like no one will ever click the wrong thing by accident.
