Rant: My bank app hid the pay button behind a swipe gesture

Honestly, I spent like 10 minutes trying to send rent money last week through my bank's mobile app. Turns out they hid the 'confirm payment' button behind a random swipe left that nothing in the UI hints at. I almost paid late and got a $35 fee because some designer thought swiping was clever. Has anyone else dealt with hidden gestures that cost you time or money?

Blame the designer who probably never had to pay rent on a phone while running late. Seriously, who tests these things with actual users before pushing them live? Did your bank app even give you some kind of warning before they moved the button, or did it just suddenly change one day with no update notes? I swear they rely on us just randomly poking at the screen until something works, which is insane when money is on the line. Had a similar thing where they changed the "transfer funds" to a long press and I almost sent cash to the wrong account because it felt sticky. Makes you wonder if the people designing this stuff ever actually have to use it in a panic.

No way, that long press thing is terrifying (like who thought that was a good idea?). I swear these UI changes feel less like user testing and more like a cruel experiment in muscle memory. It's wild to think they just drop these updates with zero warning, expecting us to figure it out while we're stressed and trying not to lose our rent money.
